I have been MIA for awhile. Things have been very crazy around here. We had 5 graduations and 5 birthdays in the month of May. I also had my gall bladder out. Woohoo! I am glad it is June. Hopefully I will get time to post some new cards soon.

I wanted to direct you to an awesome blogger. Mary Fish. She has done an awesome display of the new in colors for you to see. You may check them out on her blog http://www.stampinpretty.com/ I hope she doesn't mind but she is a favorite of mine to check out everyday. Check out her stamp room also, you will be jealous.

SYMPATHY CARDS

I made a couple of sympathy cards. My husband is a chiropractor and lately he has been losing patients. It seems like they are all of the ones who have been patients of his since he started. Some of them were patients of his dads 25 years ago when we both worked at the office before my husband became a chiropractor. It is always sad for him and he always likes to send a card to the family to let them know he is thinking about them.

Anyway, on to the cards.

Stamps: Refuge and strength
Paper: To the Nines DSP, kraft, basic black
Ink: versamark and stazon
Ribbon: black from the Valet
The pearls are from Micheal's

Give the ones you love a hug today!!!

Tart and Tangy

I really think I need to take a photography class. I can never get my pictures just right. I see some gorgeous photos and I am always so jealous. For this card I wanted to use some of my new stuff. I love when that SU box arrives. It is like a birthday or Christmas all over again.

Stamp set: polka dot punches
Paper: rose red, kiwi kiss, regal rose and Raspberry Tart DSP
Paper piercer and new SU eyelet border punch
Ribbon: Rose red
The green jewels are non SU

Have a great day

Valentine's, Quick!!!

This is the card I made for my hubby. I wanted something simple because I have been sick and had no energy or desire to stamp. I can no longer get away with giving anyone anything but a homemade card. LOL!!! I used the love you much stamp set. The new tuxedo ribbon( it is awesome, I wish it came in a bigger roll), and new punch (I can't remember the name, I lent out my catalog till I can buy more) but it is stampin-up. I used real red and whisper white paper. The image is stamped with stazon and real red for the heart.

This is the card I made for my daughter. She is a lovey dovey. The image is embossed with black embossing powder, then cut out. I used basic black and craft paper. Again I used the tuxedo ribbon and the border punch.

I hope you enjoy yoiur Valentine's Day, I am off to the dunes for the weekend.

Boys Birthdays

I don't know. I always have a hard time with boys, or manly birthday cards. I whipped this one up for my best friends sons birthday. I used the star punch which made it very quick. I used windsor knot knot designer series paper with old olive background. Each star is whisper white, baja breeze and old olive. I used a circle punch on the dsp and then a brad to finish each one off.
I also used a strip of old olive ribbon.

Have an awesome day.

I don't know about you but I am tired of sickness going around my family. I have been exposed to many kinds of illness this past month as I am sure you have to. It finally got me. I have been feeling awful this week and finally a little better this afternoon. Yeah!!! I hate being sick.

The card above was made for one of my best friends who lost her sister to breast cancer this week. It has been a long, hard road for the entire family. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

STAMP SET:
sweet stems
DSP:
windsor knot
CARDSTOCK:
chocolate chip, so saffron, whisper white, old olive
OTHER:

I hope that is it. Hope you have a great day and stay healthy.

It's a Loop Thing

I really like this new Hand drawn designer paper. The silver accents are from the stylized silver hodgepodge hardware. I thought Kiwi Kiss matched the cake and cupcakes on the red better than old olive. I used the scallop punch for the pink pirouette and a non stampin up punch for the baja breeze.

This card also uses Hand drawn DSP. I use circle punches in different sizes and then used build a brad for the center. The greeting is printed on whisper white designer paper and popped up with dimensionals. I used the small oval punch for the baja breeze background.

NOTEPAD

Here is another case from the famous Nancy Riley. You can see her version with the tutorial, here. She even gave me one for Christmas. I love my friend. Anyway, I did an everyday version using Urban Garden paper. Can't get enough of it! I used two different patterns on the cover and added a basic gray taffeta ribbon. Ooh, so love this ribbon. I used basic gray cardstock to punch two flowers with the 5 petal flower punch and old olive for the small flower with a non-su punch. On the inside I used more from the urban garden family and used a stamp from Season of Joy to stamp the swirl (also with basic gray) on several of the sheets of paper. My daughter gave each of her teachers one of these for Christmas along with some other goodies.

Okay, so now I am going to BRAG about my awesome daughter, Makenna. She made the cheer squad at her school. She is really good and so much fun to watch. This is the last month of cheer and then back to dance full time. Ugh! She is so busy. I don't know where she gets all the energy. I finally managed to get a picture of her in her uniform today. She was bummed because she isn't feeling so great but, she was a trooper.

PRETTY TOPIARY

I made another topiary. This time using Bella Rose paper. I love this paper. I punched and punched and punched. It takes a lot of flowers to make these. There are 2 large flowers punched in contrasting colors using the 5 petal flower punch. One small flower is punched for the center using a non-stampin-up punch. This is a third color. I secured the flower with an extra long stick pin that has a white ball on the tip. The pot was painted with red craft paint that matched the Ridinghood red paper, then i used a sponge and chocolate chip ink to give it an aged look. I used tape to secure the kiwi kiss ribbon. The balls are just styrofoam found at Michael's. I did paint these first with the red so no gaps would show. The stem is a wooden dowel stained with chocolate chip ink. All of it is glued in place and moss covers the foam inside the pot. These take a long time to make but so worth it in the end.

UPSY DAISY

Can I tell you how bummed I am that Inspired by Nature is not in the new catalog? I love that set. Anyway, I am glad that Upsy Daisy is still here.

For this card I used not quite navy as a base. Then the image is stamped with baja breeze first, then not quite navy, for a shadow look. Thank you is stamped in kiwi kiss. I used the scallop punch on a piece of baja breeze for the bottom and then layered scrap pieces of Urban Garden paper (glad that has remained in the catalog). Last, I added the kiwi kiss satin ribbon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Of course, once again I have cased Nancy Riley. You can see her card here.

This is one she did ages ago but I still love it. I did a normal size card and used baja breeze instead of real red.
